PART #3... In this session we will explore different forms of prayer. (Note: if you click on the Power of One logo it will take you back to the 'home' page)
To begin, click on the "Value of One" link (on the right side bar) After you have finished this "3 minute retreat" form of prayer, please answer this question: (3A) HOW DID YOU CHANNEL GOD'S LOVE TO SOMEONE IN NEED?
Next, click on "Recited Prayers" (on the right side bar). After reading these prayers, answer this question
(3B) Do you use any of these prayers in your daily life? Which one(s)? Are there any of these prayers that speak to you that you may want to start using? (you can keep this answer to yourself, but please share if you are comfortable)
Another form of prayer is to just have a "conversation with God", sometimes that means to talk, and sometimes it means to just "listen". Do you ever pray this way? If not, please try it...
Be still and feel God's presence, then ask God for help with your "power of one" project. Maybe you need help deciding what to do for your project, maybe you need advice on how to make it the best it can be, whatever you need help with...talk to God and then BE STILL and LISTEN. God may not answer right away, the answer may come at another time, on another day. The answer may come in the shower, in a song, from your parents, sibling, friend or stranger. Just be open-minded and listen.
(3C) When you feel that God has answered, please share how God has helped you in some way with your project.

ReplyDelete1. I listened to a friends problem, and gave him the advice he needed to move on.
2. I say those prayers in Church every Sunday.
3. God gave me ideas oh how to do my project by giving me ideas on how to help the community.

#A33 1. The "Value of one" video helped me realize how much of a diffrence one person can make. 2. I hear many of the prayers that I saw on the recited prayers website in church. i never had a chance to read them and understand there true mening. It changes my entire outlook on church. I feel much more involved.
ReplyDelete1.) I channel God's love to people in need by just spending time with them and listening, sometimes giving advice. "Spending time with others touches God's heart"- from the check in church.
ReplyDelete2.) I use the Our Father and the before meal prayer every day. I may use the Serenity prayer.
3.)Im not sure yet but God gave me the idea to use my gift of knowledge to help tutor some kids that need help in different subjects. Just an idea.

3. Not really sure about that, but i tend to believe that he helps me with being a overall good person.

1. I try to always reach out to someone in need, even if I need to go out of my way, it's the right thing to do.
ReplyDelete2. I may not use them every day but I recognize many of the prayers including The Rosary, Hail Mary, Our Father, and the Sign of The Cross.

2) I use God's love to help people who need help moving forward from a crisis or a small problem.
3) This video helped me realize how much of a difference one person can make if they want to.
1.) I channel God's love by showing people love, listening & talking to people when they need it. Also giving advice to people. I would consider giving and showing love to someone that might be going through a tough time showing them that things will be ok.
ReplyDelete2.)i haven't sat down and read the prayers that were given on the website but i have heard them in church and now i have some what of an idea of the true meaning. I would like to know what the actually meanings of the prayers are, but i have an idea. I will now use them when i need them, and when they speak out to me.
3.)I think god gave me the answer of either doing something for older people or young kids that need help. Another option that he gave me was to do something with breast caner or something for bullying.
